About MBSR

Mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) is a treatment program aimed at reducing stress that was developed in the late 1970s by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. It uses the psychological concept of mindfulness.

The goal of the program is to help people better manage stressful stimuli and various manifestations of long-term stress, such as anxiety, depression and exhaustion.

In addition to reducing “stress”, which is the various forms of hardship we experience in life, developing mindfulness leads to greater understanding of ourselves and others, greater contentment and joy, insight and freedom, release from fear and constriction, and discovery of our true self. nature which is openness, compassion, trust and kindness.

MINDFULNESS TEACHERS

Šimon Grimmich

Since 2017, I have been teaching mindfulness courses. I am a certified teacher of MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction), MBCL (Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living), and MBCT (Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy) programs. I regularly organize meditation retreats and teach contemplative practices at the Kolín Monastery. For years, I have been dedicated to the practice of Zen Buddhism at a Zen center in India, where I spend one or two months every year. I translate books on mindfulness and meditation (authors such as Thich Nhat Hanh, Saki Santorelli, Kōdō Sawaki, and others). During my PhD studies, I focused on meditation research. I also produce a podcast dedicated to mindfulness and poetry.

Šárka Kašparová

I completed a series of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Interpersonal Mindfulness Program (IMP – focused on communication) courses with Czech and foreign lecturers, which enabled me to gain in-depth knowledge of mindfulness practice. I completed the MBSR teachers training in Germany under the guidance of an international team of lecturers, the entire training was conducted in English. In addition, I regularly visit the Bodhi Zendo Zen Center in India, where I engage in intensive Zen practice and work on the kōans. Every year I also treat myself to a week-long retreat in the dark, which allows me to deepen my connection to my inner self and personal growth. I am currently teaching MBSR courses and other mindfulness techniques at Seznam.cz, where I am dedicated to both individual teaching and group courses for corporate clients.
